When does people read your blog?
Here is what I’ve noticed:
- The number of readers is increasingly high in the first 2 days after posting an article
- People bookmark the blogs or use the RSS feedreader to read the posts when they have time. Therefore you can expect in an increase of visitors on Friday afternoon – maybe 30% more visitors.
- They are most likely going to use RSS feeds to read your blog than anything else
Therefore my advice is:
- Write often
- Write interesting things so people bookmark your site
- Write in the middle of the week to reach most readers on Friday
Good tips! The timing thing makes sense.
All my RSS readings take two hours per day, minimum. I don’t always enjoy getting up two hours earlier to read everything, so maybe I’ll have time this weekend. Sigh.
