Start-Up Chile

Posted on 07 September 2010

Start-Up Chile is an initiative of the Chilean Government to attract world-class early stage entrepreneurs to start their businesses in Chile. The pilot program will select 25 entrepreneurs and offer them a 1-yr resident visa, a USD 40k grant to cover expenses for six months and local network and support. The program office in Santiago will guide to a safe “landing”:
opening bank accounts, obtaining a Chilean ID, understanding the legal and tax system, while also providing temporary office space.

What does it finance?

- Human Resources: salaries of employees and of other professionals associated with the project’s activities, and others.
- Operational expenses directly associated to the project execution: administrative and office expenses, supplies, housing, insurances, promotion, flight tickets, and others.
- Investments: acquisition of fixed assets, technological equipment, computers, investments directly related with the project, and others.
