Small Business Week 2008

Posted on October 13, 2008

Small Business Week promises to be a dynamic and eventful week that will debate the issues affecting the business community and seek to develop ways to support its long-term success. It will also provide businesses with access to invaluable resources and advice, specifically designed to help them compete and thrive.

During the week of October 13, 2008, a range of government, business and independent organizations will come together to celebrate the country’s 4.6 million small businesses. We aim to explore the issues businesses face, whilst championing their cause and highlighting the opportunities, resources and support structures that are available to ensure this community continues to flourish.

Specifically focusing on Business Confidence, the week will explore how this is key to the success of a company at all stages of growth – whether thinking, starting or growing. Business Confidence includes having a complete understanding of your business and the market in which it operates, believing in your companies ability to compete and driving the business to realise its full potential.

Business Confidence is made up of the ability to complete and thrive in the current economic environment, to understand flexible and home working, to be responsible, win and retain customers and drive innovation. All of these themes will be explored during the week, as well as Business Mentoring, which can help improve Business Confidence.
