Small Business Start-up explained

Posted on April 6, 2007

After more than 2 years since we have started Energybyte, I’m still coming back with feedback about start-ups, the challenges and feelings of early Entrepreneurs.

I have a new idea about the hole start-up experience. And that is: a new business is like a baby. Random thoughts:

  • First, you never know when it’s a good time to have it, but if you delay it enough you will somehow reach a certain period when you really have to do it.
  • You don’t know how is going to be called, and you have to look for a name.

  • You have to put some savings aside, to provide financial support until it’s going to be on it’s own.
  • You don’t know how it will evolve, and you always have to look and correct the path
  • It tends to take all your time and strengths.
  • In both cases, you hope things are going to reverse, and you’re going to get to a period when it will provide help and support for you.
  • You are sick worried about the new responsibilities and challenges
  • It will get sick and need help.
  • Once it will be born it will change your life completely and for all.
  • Once it will be born, you will be very proud of it, and will be the most valuable thing in your life.

Of course, I don’t have a child, so I might be wrong. What do you think?

You analogies are appropriate… may I add one?

You can’t have a baby alone… well OK, you can
start a business alone, but often it speeds
things up when you have partners. The trick is
how to avoid others stealing your original idea.
Have you ever been faced with this dilemma? If
so, how did you resolve it?

PS why is your tool refusing my geocities URL?
Your tool also doesn’t seem to allow me to
