More advantages and disadvantages
Lot of things have happen since I wrote about the “Entrepreneurship as a part time job“. I did take the risk of having a 5 days “vacation” and now I have some updates on the advantages and disadvantages…Let’s see:
Not so great
Legal stuff
As everybody in the company is working after the 9 to 5 job, it shortly became obvious that all the legal stuff is quite impossible to solve. Every legal issue has to be solved during a 9 to 5 program…Usually you could hire someone for this, but in emergency situations you have to somehow take the situation in your own hands. Don’t despair – in impossible situations – your family could be the last resource – ask some of your relatives to help you out.
Resources problems
Well, its the holiday seasons. You are already working in a limited time, and now your colleagues are leaving in holiday ?! What a mess. No resources at all this time
In my case, I had a little chance, and I managed to find a replacement, but what can you do if you don’t have one? Well, you don’t have too many options, all you can do is to plan the holidays and try not to run any projects during the holiday season. This could mean some lost contracts, but remember, your company is a second job – you will not die if you don’t cash in for 2-3 weeks.
The goodies
Money and pride
Just before leaving for the 5 days vacation (probably the only one for this year) I did check the bank account. And surprise – there were money into the account. Extra money than my regular paycheck
) Also the bank clerk called me: Mr. OWNER. Imagine that, I’m the OWNER of a company that makes money
More experience, more opportunities
I just realized at my return home that while discussing with some friends about some possible businesses, we had a major difference in acknowledging the opportunities: while they were thinking that well, it would be interesting to try, but far away in terms of real life, I was far more positive: yes, why not, we could do that. So by comparing myself with my friends, I’ve discovered that I’m more receptive to trying new things.
Paying back the society
For the moment, the only way to pay back the society is by paying taxes. But why not, I’m creating some value, and some of that returns to the society.
New social position
I’ve also realized that without even trying, I’ve entered a new social “club”: while before having a beer with an entrepreneur friend always made me think that this guy is better than me, now I’m their equal, and they know this. Sharing entrepreneurship experiences is fun!
