Entrepreneurs: role model in local business

Posted on 13 November 2005

Just the other day, I won a new Web Design contract for my company. Nothing spectacular, a simple site for a start-up. But what was interesting was the way I’ve got the contract.

First, the client was already working with a Web Design company for some time, and he was already having a site for his main business. Now he was considering to open a new business, and have a site as a virtual support and to ensure his credibility. What is more interesting, is that I was referred to him by his wife, who works for a non profit IT association; some one year and a half, I’ve provided some free services and advice to the non-profit organization regarding their site – it now seems that the efforts I’ve put in paid dividends.

What I’m trying to say is that providing quality services, even if they are for free, always pays back; be a role model for the local business and you will always win, one way or another.
