Doing business in Romania

Posted on September 28, 2005

Doing business in Romania (or any other East European country) might not seem like the best business in town for most foreign investors. Hmm. I feel different.

While in the most advanced countries, there might be little businesses to be done (most market needs are covered and you have to be extremely efficient to gain a market share in any activity you might want to do) in Romania there is still a big place to cover. Simply, there aren’t enough businesses to cover all the demand, and even more, some needs have not yet been discovered by the Romanian customers. Let me give you some examples for Bucharest:

  • I only found one company to make a proper replacement for my motorbike tires
  • I still not have a proper fitness center in my neighborhood

So, there is plenty of room to invest in Romania (or in any other similar country). Furthermore, key business regulations and reforms are implemented at an accelerate rate.
