CJD-Tunisia, the association of young entrepreneurs, was founded in 1998 by Mr. Hedi Djilani, UTICA president (Tunisian Union of Industry, Commerce and Handicrafts) in close collaboration with CJD-France. CJD’s main objective is to better prepare the young Tunisian entrepreneur to face globalization challenges.
CJD’s first National Executive Board was appointed in 1999 by the UTICA president; Mr. Montassar AZAIEZ was CJD’s first president.
During the CJD executive board elections, organized by UTICA in June of 2005, Mr. Abdelaziz Darghouth was elected as new president.
CJD’s 3rd executive board was elected in June of 2007 and Mrs. Monia Essaidi is president since.
CJD national executive Board as well as its members had been very active in many areas touching economic and entrepreneurial development.
A member’s initiation training called ‘START’, aimed at getting new members involved and pushing them to becoming active contributors to the CJD movement, has been developed, with the help of CJD France;
CJD’s national bureau holds monthly meetings, and subject oriented commission meetings are held weekly. Commissions are usually composed of 5 to 8 CJD members. These meetings help plan actions, and evaluate project progresses.
The national bureau has put in place an action plan that would help improve CJD’s positioning, and hence attract young entrepreneurs and managers that fulfill the membership criteria. CJD then provides a space where the business development issues as well as the external factors influencing them could be discussed.
