US Small businesses won $96.8 billion in federal contracts 2009

Small businesses nationwide won a record $96.8 billion in federal contracts last year, an increase of more than $3 billion over fiscal 2008, the U.S. Small Business Administration reported Friday.
Contracts awarded to small businesses accounted for nearly 22 percent of all federal spending last year, according to an annual scorecard released by the SBA that
